One dream I had last night involved my sister and I going to some kind of shopping mall (it’s interior was a combination of my house and workplace), but then the whole place gets locked down as an unseen person holds everyone inside hostage. Or at least I can only imagine that’s what happened, as the hacker never gave any explanation or intent, in the dream I just immediately resigned myself to the fact of “Welp, guess this is my life now, hope I can live through it.” Everyone in the mall then proceeded to carry out the orders of the hacker, although it was all rather benign stuff (like change outfits into this fun costume and act a character). They didn’t even look to have any weapons on them, the only threat was the assumed one in the rest of the mallgoers’ minds.
Made me think, this concept of “people are duped into thinking they’re held hostage even when no one said they are and there’s no visible threat” sounds like something you’d see in a silly sci-if story, or maybe even a pretentious commentary piece, all depending on who would write it.

Last night, I had a pretty elaborate dream. I had walked into this ruined tower-castle thing. There were upper floors (apparently), but apparently the other floors were so worn away that it was still easy to see sky. There wasn't much to the floors themselves; just about one room each, maybe with some partitions. I started on the ground floor and saw two ways to go; I could climb myself onto some ruined stairs and make my way up to the next floor and the ones following, or I could take this stairway down. For the stairwell down, I could feel something ominous. So I opted to climb onto the ruined stairs and go up.
There were several levels like this, each with their own level of ruin. Each time, I had to find a way to continue my way up despite ruined stairways and non-OSHA-compliant buildings. Stuff that would be difficult for my physical level, basically. It felt like I was doing a series of puzzles to determine how to get up to the top floor. Some required a bit more creativity than other floors.
After about the 8th floor, I found myself in this large room/field with an open sky. (Somehow.) In fact, this area was all super maintained. There was ground and grass, and then levels of wooden floor (despite the previous stone), and a heightened floor where there were thrones; implied to be the 9th one that I was seeking. There were several people here, training with foam weapons, hoping to compete for the right to challenge the current holder of the thrones and take their place as Champion. As a newbie, it was implied that it would be quite some time before I could ever rise to the challenge, and that I would be stuck practicing. I watched these people practice for some time, did a practice myself, pondered doing the challenge for myself, before deciding that I didn't actually want it. So then I thought: "I'm going to see what's downstairs." People there tried to warn me against it, something about me not being ready, but I was already going back downstairs.
It was easier to go down to the bottom floor (nevermind the sometimes decent-sized drops that would require), and then start to take the stairwell down. The stairs down were well-maintained, and contrary to what you would expect, the lower floors were well-lit. Sometimes I saw sky (somehow). These rooms were partitioned a bit more, and it was more like solving a maze than parkouring my way to victory. Occasionally, I saw dungeon dwellers like a goblin here and there, but they didn't bother me despite the threat they were supposed to pose.
I ended up going down to the 8th basement floor without problem. I knew there would just be the 9th floor ahead of me. Like the 8th floor above, the 8th floor below was also expansive. This time this one was indeed unambiguously underground, but well-maintained. In fact, it was very grand. There there about... 3 rooms to this? Two of them were parts of one huge expansive hallway with a pair of gigantic doors at the end of them, and the other one was a room full of battle equipment. All over, there were people in warrior garb, lined up, biding their time as they wait for their turn to enter the doors. There were also tents around, for people to rest. I recognized the warriors as some of the same ones on the 8th floor above. Some of them were people I knew in life. I asked some of them what this was. They told me that beyond the doors, a great dragon waited to do battle. Defeating and killing the dragon would be a great honor and a great feat, and mark one as a true champion. It was implied that winning the challenges in the 8th upper floor practice areas was just a stepping stone to prepare warriors for this final challenge.
I asked about going in with some people, but I was told by an arbiter that warriors could only go in one at a time. For... some reason. As they said that, they declared that another warrior was defeated, and so the next warrior went in, all excited for some reason. I asked if there was a way I could watch. They said yes; there was an observation area. I have no idea how they got there, especially since there was no evidence of doors leading that way. But somehow, I found myself there, in the upper stands to a dark, torch-lit arena. The warrior waited on one side of a gate. The gate rose, and out came this gigantic black dragon, with tinges of orange to them. Despite the tinges of orange that were fire, there was no fire breathing; the dragon fought mostly in melee. The warrior stood no chance.
Then suddenly, I was someone else; one of the warriors in the battlefield. Except I was a mage. And I was going toe-to-toe with this dragon. I wish I remembered how this fight went down. But I remember doing exactly what the others didn't do, relying on my spells and environment. I don't know if I killed the dragon, but I think I did ultimately defeat it this way, with which I was praised. I was the true champion who saved the place (even though the dragon didn't seem to be endangering it). I was proud for my skills, but other than that, the victory felt pretty hollow. Like I hadn't gained much out of that.
I think they ended up resuming with another dragon as I left. I left through one of the lower floors and somehow came to the surface that way despite lack of stairs.
This dream may have been too inspired by video games.

I had a Pokémon dream last night! Team Rocket (Jessie and James, I don't think Meowth was there) were in some kind of warehouse trying to do... something... so they donned disguises in order to get past the workers. However, the workers immediately noticed they were acting suspicious, so they turned tail and fled.
On their way out, they ran into Ash because of course. (And me? I guess I was there?) A Pokémon battle started, but I guess I didn't have any Pokémon, so I just watched from another room through a window. Team Rocket had Arbok and Weezing of course, but James also had multiple Onix for some reason? Maybe they'd been stealing them? Anyway, one of them evolved into Steelix mid-battle (which even in-dream me thought was odd), but Ash's Cyndaquil made quick work of it because type advantage.
So yeah, Ash won, Team Rocket left, I offered my congratulations, and that's around when I woke up.

I wish I remembered more of this dream, but here goes!
So basically, I dreamed that I went to see a play. And since it's supposed to be about misadventures, it's supposed to be rather comical, but there were plenty of fantastical elements. Like at one point, a scene similar to Aladdin finding a lamp and releasing a genie, in-between... all the other scenes that had nothing to do with it. Anyway, the play went on, and apparently dream!me thought it was so great that it was worth seeing again.
So I went to see it again, and like before, it was a full performance! ...Or. Was supposed to be. But despite it being a performance, it was treated as a rehearsal? People would get frustrated and go on tangents mid-scene. People were looking uncertain. And then there was a turning point. A new person had entered the scene, and everyone was going on with lines, when at one point someone from the audience who happened to be a stage person went: "Okay, stop there." Actor: "...Really?!" And then the director (I assume) told them some things and told them to start again at [line] 33. While this was all happening, I thought: "Oh boy, the audience won't like this..." And true to form, they didn't. Half of them got up and left. The other half... kinda shifted seats? Like a mad hatter.
Anyway, sometime in the middle of the performance, I made a mess with some food and I went to the bathroom (to which the door happened to be to the side of the theatre), and I was washing up while trying to look at the scene going on, which was the genie one, by the way. Not sure how they got the theatre magic to work to make them actually look like a real genie, but that's how it was. Except my view was obscured due to where I was.
And the dream ended there. The play had a wonderful opening, but the second performance was a serious flop; beyond the usual.

I had a dream that NTWF had this Valentines event where we all sent "Valentines Cards" to each other. The main goal was to send a card to each participant, containing a (positive) message of your choice. Messages could include things such as a doodle of their OC or favourite character, a sentence or two about how cool of a person they are, or a cute funny pun-filled ham-sandwich of a personalized typical Valentines Day poem.
In the dream, I was opening up my cards (PMs) and one message just read:
"Potato potato potato potato." with a doodle of a heart-shaped potato below.
dream!me thought this was the most hilarious thing ever. I laughed so hard that my knee-slap limb flailing knocked the lamp off my computer desk (In reality the lamp is not on my computer desk and hasn't been for five years. XD) and when it hit the floor, it yelled "OUCH!"

Only only problem is, who gets to be the privilege of making "potato potato potato potato" cards?

Dreamed I was doing something really mundane like... donating clothes to a thrift store, I think? Something in that vein. Anyways I had to sign all these papers in a little booklet and I finished and went to pass it back to the clerk. Then I felt the booklet get really really warm under my hand and she looks at me and goes "THE PACT IS SEALED"
and I thought this was hilarious and we continued the transaction like nothing had happened
tl:dr astral projected to the thrift store and donated my soul to Satan, help???

Dreamt last night that me and four other people were on the Tardis with the Doctor, but for each stop, one person would be voted off and have to stay behind on whatever planet we visited until only one was left to stay with the Doctor. I've never watched Doctor Who, but consider this my idea submission to the writers on how they can spice the show up- start implementing the same business model as Survivor.

Last night, I dreamed I was in a strange place, isolated. It was big and comfortable enough, but nevertheless I was isolated.
At some point, I learned that there was someone in a similar situation in another facility, whom I learned I could communicate with through a large tube (not large enough for a grown person) in an underwater pool. (Don't ask how I could hear him just fine.) We communicated about our circumstances, and by swimming through that improbable tube, we were able to get from one "sanctuary" to another, although we never ran into each other. We were trying to find out the secrets of this place, and how to get out.
I guess we also had guardians of sorts? A genie, in my case, although only by name as they didn't necessarily look like one. Anyway, mine appeared to me from time to time, usually to help me, though more to kindly block my progress the more I learned about the place.
Eventually, as I learned more, the genie invited me to somewhere special, where they promised to explain. They took me through a door, and inside... Were many people in a completely full cafeteria, eating something before them. It looked very nice, actually; very restaurant-like. And I was told to have dinner.
The plate I got actually looked very nice. A plate of lettuce, cut-up salmon, some other meat I don't remember, and other things I don't remember; maybe a vegetable casserole? And it was actually very appetizing looking. But I just didn't feel hungry. Yet the genie was insistent that I eat.
I stared at my plate, looked at the others, and then realized.
These genies bring us here to build us up to eat us.
(...Which is. Why I had completely reasonable portions for my diet. I dunno. Dream logic.)
The genie tried to lie their way through an explanation as I realized this and called them out for it. They thought they could sway me. But eventually, they realized I figured it out. So I ran out of the dining hall and went down the hallways open to me. I hoped to find where my talk-buddy was so we could meet up and escape this place once and for all.
...And that was where the dream ended. Dangit; I wanted to see how that would end.

Oh I nearly forgot- the other night I dreamed that I was running very late for Thundy's irl wedding, because it was happening in Portugal, and I had trouble getting directions due to language barriers! It was a rather nice venue on the beach. When I got there I was requested to help fix the hair of the kids who were participating - to toss flowers or whatever kids do in weddings - but I think I accidentally put a curse on one of the kids' hair! D8 The wedding went really well though! We never actually saw Thundy's spouse! But it was all really nice! And after the wedding, we went to the bachelor party!

Last night, I dreamed that I got the responsibility to drive a big truck! Like. A big truck. A semi. The one that cauls those giant crates around. That kind of truck.
And I was so high up! It was very overwhelming!
And I had no idea how to drive it!
I broke all sorts of driving rules. I was a very dangerous driver on the road. At one point, a cop was trying to write my truck a ticket because I had quadruple-parked because dangit, if I don't know how to park in a normal car, what chance do I have with a truck? So like a responsible, law-abiding citizen, I dashed into my truck and drove away before they could finish!!
Where I proceeded to drive erratically and dangerously! For... some reason. No one was actually chasing me. But I felt like I had to take all these risks! Go down alleyways! Almost run over people in those alleyways! And at one point while dodging, almost fall over a cliffside (which was there now) and have a bunch of my train carts (which were there now too) fall over the edge and fall down. But at least I was losing truck weight and on my way!
Except there came a time where there was absolutely no dodging this person in the middle of an alleyway. It would've been completely impossible. So... I drove myself off the cliffside! (Somehow! Despite being surrounded by buildings.) And it was an epic crash! And I thought "oh no, I'm gonna be in so much trouble for this!" So... I loaded my game! (I don't know. Wishful thinking, I guess.)
So I was back on the run from nothing, driving my semi erratically, not driving down any alleys but basically having people weave around this dangerous truck driver.
I am very responsible and very good at driving trucks in the dream-'verse.
Maybe I shouldn't be trusted with a truck.
