I was really surprised when I saw this in the forum: Did ProBoards just put ads in the forum?

I was just going to ask that. The banner that used to go at the top of the page seems to be appearing between posts now. :/

Quoted from the Proboards support boards:
So, it looks like we'll have to get used to ads in the middle of our threads now, unless anything else changes while proboards tries to accommodate their unhappy clients. I believe we tried purchasing ad-free service at one point, and we blew through the number of ad-free page views so quickly, it wasn't worth it.
If you have any suggestions or comments that you'd like us to pass along, feel free to share your thoughts on the ads here.

XD The link might be helpful anyway... *shrugs* *noogie* XD Well, after browsing through the thread, it seems proboards is considering an option where the admin could set the ads to the old style. However, they don't know yet if they can go through with it or not. So for now, we just have to have some patience.

What they never said was *why* they had to move the ads. What was wrong with their original placement? I'm still not going to click them...

What they never said was *why* they had to move the ads. What was wrong with their original placement? I'm still not going to click them... Simple. They need to keep their revenue up and in. Advertisers probably started pulling support due to low traffic for the cost of placing them. It's why Neo had to experiment and change their ad policies. Or it could be the expanding costs of Proboards requires more revenue than the stable points they were. ...or they got greedy and want more profits. Could be anything. I'd suggest clicking on the ads every now and then to provide for some more revenue.

Well, they're fools then XDDD I always accidentally click the ads when I'm scrolling down with the middle button. I won't accidentally click them there :3
Besides, when you're reading a thread... and have gotten past the first post, you want to read the second post, not some ads XD I'm more likely to read the adverts when they're at the top... I didn't even acknowledge what they were trying to peddle to me on this board.

So it just appears as a gray space for me. It would've been better if they were the small, unobtrusive ads that are typically at the bottom of the screen, and then placing the banner-like ones down there in their stead.

Just something else from the main support board that I thought I'd pass on: Well that's good then. So we just have to endure a week of it or so.
