Has anyone ever participated in Odyssey of the Mind before? We had competition today and we got 8 out of 11. Oh well, it was our school's first year ever particiapting so we'll catch up eventually. Anyone else done it before?

Never heard of it. What is it? Well, it's kind of like a school club, except there are only 7 people to each team. It is like a creative thinking thing. It consists of two parts, long term and short term problems. The long term problem you are given a choice of problems to solve to choose from, which usually is a play or building something. The short term is a spontaneous thing and you never know what you'll have to do. Then on one day teams from aroudn the state get together and are judged on it. Thats what it mostly is.

I remember my primary school enter a competition exactly the same as that. It was called 'Tournament of the Minds'. You only got a 3m by 3m space to perform in. Fun but weird.

I was an OMer for three years in Grade school. I loved it! We did the drama-based problem every year and got to go to State competition.
You wouldn't believe the crazy stuff our coach did to help us practice for the spontaneous problems if I told you.

We had that in Middle School, but it was for Science people. (Ponders) I wondered how they blew things up so easily...
