Here's a little Where's Waldo exercise for you guys. Spot the problem. I'm about 50 years behind on answering my neomails and I try to answer a simple one asking for tips on Defenders of Neopia but it's taking forever because I keep getting the "Please don't send messages containing cheats, scams, profanity, etc." message. Usually I can spot what I've "done wrong" but it's late and I just can't. Can anyone figure it out?
"I'm not really an expert when it comes to the battledome. You should probably try to build up your pet's hit points with courses at the mystery island training school or krawk island academy. Also, get some good weapons-- ask around on the battledome chat board to find out what some of the good ones are right now and figure out what you can afford. Good luck!"

I've read it inside out, turned it up and down, and I... am stumped. (I've had experiences like this before too... I always assumed it's because of some word they considered a commonly-used word in scams rather than actual profanity)...

I tried sending it to myself and deleted 1 word at a time, the offending word is 'pet's'

Aha! It's that nefarious apostrophe! ::wails:: Why must they hate the apostrophe? Ok, overreaction over. Aztecarcher, that's a good find, cos, I've experienced the same frustrations as Tydans. I always send my mail to the bug reports, and ask them to find the problem. They never reply. But, they did fix the break tag before an "a: problem in HTML. God it was annoying to be informed that "bra" isn't allowed on Neopets.

Aha! It's that nefarious apostrophe! ::wails:: Why must they hate the apostrophe? If "pet's" is the problem, I don't see why you think it's the apostrophe... Okay, I can see their reasoning, and yet-- do they not realize how ridiculous it is to block the word "pets" on "Neo pets"? Anyway, thanks for the help guys.

Aha! It's that nefarious apostrophe! ::wails:: Why must they hate the apostrophe? Actually, I think it might be the apostrophe. I know I shouldn't use bad words...but look at what happens if you use the apostrophe as a space: pet s hit pointsIt has nothing to do with the word "pets" or "hit", just what they make when you combine them...

Oh, now I get it. Still, sometimes the censors just tick me off... especially when I see what people who are trying to say inappropriate things can get away with.

Naw, it would be weapons, but the pets hit points makes sence... Those things are very, very odd sometimes. ;

I know the chat boards sometimes don't like the word "hit," but I think Sensei's got it.

I know the chat boards sometimes don't like the word "hit," but I think Sensei's got it. *giggles* I once saw someone on the chatboards say "I'm going to... what? I can't say |-|it? Oh well, in that case I'm going to have to kill you. Your choice, Neopets staff." Oh. . . and did you know that you aren't allowed to swear into the NPV2 terminal? I personally find that a bit overboard, 'cause it's not as though anyone but yourself is ever going to see what you typed into it. You can't even say the word "kill" to NPV2, and your allowed to say it practically everywhere else on the site.

*giggles* I once saw someone on the chatboards say "I'm going to... what? I can't say |-|it? Oh well, in that case I'm going to have to kill you. Your choice, Neopets staff." People are often posting about crude humor and finding ways to get away with saying words about private parts or bodily functions. They actually spend the time trying to create a combination of accepted characters to make a sick, twisted board, which will lead to Neopets banning even MORE character combinations... ...which leads me to my belief that soon we will only be allowed to say "Neopets", "Limited Too", a few of the species names, and "Martha Stewart". I can see it now... On New Features...-Neopets Aishas Limited Too!!! -Shoyru, Krawk, Kyrri? -Gelert Neopets Limited Too. On Neomail...MESSAGE: GELERTS LIMITED TOO!! GELERTS LIMITED TOO!! REPLY: Limited Too? ...Usul Neopets? REPLY 2: Martha Stewart Neopets! By that time, I'll be out playing in the sun with normal people.

LOL, you know, that could actually maybe make a funny comic. You explain your little theory about the future of Neopia at the beginning and then show how it looks. You'd have to leave the Martha Stewart thing out probably, though...

I just posted the whole comic deal on a new thread under "Collaborations". It discusses the fact that I draw like a four-year-old, but have many ideas for a comic. But that would be good... hmmm... I'll hafta make up some more dialogues during one of my classes tomorrow... Chemistry, perhaps? Drat, never mind, we're doing a lab... hmmm... maybe I just won't go to karate tomorrow night... and make up stuff during that time ;D
