A friend of mine submitted her short story, titled 'A tale Written' and got a 'held over' neomail on the 11th of November. She still hasn't had an acceptance letter, and it's almost a month later. Her Neo username is buds_and_authors, and she wanted to know if she should resubmit her story or wait?

I think she should try to resubmit. Perhaps her story got lost in the database or something.

It is not even a month ago though and there was no issue out last week so I don't think this would be really worrying. I would wait one week more or even 2 since there was no issue last week.

:\ Ive submitted a short animated comic (its well below the file and width requirements).. Ive submitted it 3 times in almost 2 months (I think) and Ive never once received either a TMGE or Acceptance.. I think it keeps getting lost somehow? Ive not received a single thing in regards to it.. Are animations no longer allowed in the NT?

I don't think animations are allowed... but I'm not a comic person really either. Maybe Komori or someone like her will know?

Ive not received a single thing in regards to it.. Are animations no longer allowed in the NT? We're talking about animated gifs, right? There should be no reason for it to be getting lost. In fact, my currently-held comic is an animated gif, so they still seem to be allowed in the Times. Although, to clarify, my comic is still in a normal vertical-panel layout, with animation within the panels. It doesn't play like an animated video would. Still, there doesn't seem to be any reason why animation wouldn't be allowed.

Ive had an animation in before, my "suap-eww".. I dont know why I havent received either a rejected or accepted mail at all.. maybe its just not getting sent in properly? It always confirms that its been sent, but I just dont hear anything back? Maybe Droplet really likes it and just doesnt want to hold it over yet *lol* And yes Komori, animated Gif how odd.. by the way *lol* I get comments daily about my lookup with the beautiful group 'photo' you drew for me last christmas, thank you again so much for that I do hope you dont get constantly bothered by people asking you to do the same for them.

Aww, I'm so happy you still enjoy that picture! It was fun to draw. But I can't understand why you wouldn't have been getting any sort of response. I wonder if there's something wrong with the form and that file? Maybe try renaming the file something else, and if it's really close to 200k, trying to reduce its size a little bit. I don't know what else could be a problem.

Thanks for the idea Komori *checks on the file* hm.. .gif and its also 185kb Perhaps I need to ask Droplet herself if its actually getting through at all? Oh yes, I still adore it did you ever see what I did with it btw? www.neopets.com/userlookup.phtml?user=tirilia .. of course, Ive now got Helix the Peophin instead of Vale the Lupe.. but that doesnt make too much difference.. only with people asking all the time "What happened to the lupe?" -.-

...Okay. Here's the deal. XD
I had submitted a non-series comic shortly after all of my parts for the Christmas issue were accepted. ...And then I got the held-over letter for it. THEN I submitted another comic that was meant to be a series... Without submitting the other part for that series because in the past I'd submitted a two-part series separately. XD Anyway. I got this letter *points up* But I never got a 'held over' for the actual series one? So I'm wondering if... like... I don't even know. ._. Should I submit the FIRST comic again because I never got an acceptance or rejection letter for it in the first place? Haha I submit things at the worst of times. XD *Goes to finish second part of comic series*

Well, I'm sitting here waiting to get some kind of follow-up letter for my series... So you're held but haven't been accepted/rejected yet? Sometimes it takes a couple weeks for Droplet to get around to publishing a piece that's been held, especially series. I wouldn't worry unless you're pushing 3-4 weeks. ^_^ I've had to wait longer than that myself after a held-over.

How often does the TMGE rejection come after you've been held over?

How often does the TMGE rejection come after you've been held over? Rarely. I've never received it. But I'm fairly certain that it's possible. Not positive, though.
