To answer your question, then? No. It would not. Because as I said, I just do not feel safe here. Until that changes, the ability to defend myself will hardly make me more comfortable. I thought I had that anyway. But it can be changed. We're Writers. We can make crazy-awesome things and give them to people. I bet you'd feel better if you knew everyone and anyone could handle something. And hey, if the bad guys knew, I bet they'd stop trying in the first place. In fact, it's been done in our world, and it's actually happened. It's been proven that when a populace can defend themselves, crime rates drop dramatically, incredibly. Criminals – who don't care about weapon restrictions and are going to have weapons because they're breaking the law anyway – tend to seek greener pastures, so to speak. Forget necessity; they're not likely to have the ability. I propose that we make the same a reality (so to speak) in the Taco. . . . *Frowns, clearly uncertain how to respond to this* I... see.

*about to head to work out, but pops in briefly*
Oh and in case anyone's wondering, no, you don't need to penalize someone for not having a weapon for personal reasons, and you can choose not to give weapons to those with a criminal weapon or that are unable to competently use one (that's what they do in Kennesaw). And no, we wouldn't need to remove the Truce. In fact, it could work along with the Truce: remember that they open themselves to being attacked if they try anything.
And if anyone thinks it may be godmodey, hey, they're hitting us with crazy-powerful weapons anyway. We might as well be able to defend against them by using the same.
*highfives GLQ* =D

...make that 21/24 if you count Byron and Bianca's Pokemon and Frio's (admittedly minimal) Battledome abilities

So was I, which is why I'm not sure what point she was trying to make. Iris, Maggey, and Cassy are not armed... though Iris has Pokemon to help her now (same for N). Cassy has limited Writer Powers, though. I forget if she could turn into a panther, she hasn't needed to for a while. And then there's Kristoph, who /was/ armed but is no longer. Other than that, though...
